The store front style "Window" box was a popular style package for Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head beginning in 1953. Many of the parts could be seen in the cellophane covered windows on the front of the box. It also sported a cardboard carrying handle, which was often the first thing to go missing. I have seen many more Mrs. Potato Heads in this style box surviving among collectors than I have Mr. Potato Head. Maybe the store front look appealed more to young girls interested in shopping.

One 1950s set, however, that you hardly ever see anymore is the Mr. & Mrs. Potato Heads “Slim Dandy” packages. These long, skinny boxes had a full length front cellophane window and included basically the same parts as the other Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head sets.
