Hasbro introduced Mr. Potato Head’s friend Pete the Pepper in set #2050. This character seems to have been very popular with the kids because many of them survive today.
As you can see, there were some very different box designs for all of the Tooty Fruity friends. The 1964 series of boxes, even though older than the others, is much eaiser to locate today. One of the more unusual boxes for the Tooty Fruity Friend’s is the longer “cellophane window” boxes. They were a version of the 1964 box with a cellophane window on the lower front. Although these window boxes were available for most Tooty Frooty Friends, they are very hard to find today.
