Beginning around 1978, the Hasbro logo on all of their toys was changed. Gone was the word Hasbro with the "block" style H. It was replaces with a light blue "kids at play" logo. 1970’s toys with this logo can be dated to the later part of the decade.
Two of the last sets of the 1970’s were the Super Mr. Potato Head and the Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head set. The Super Mr. Potato Head was a combination of Mr. Potato Head, plus the woman and fireman accessory packs. The second set was a Sears exclusive and was the only Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head dual set of the decade.

The 1970’s did have a couple of redeeming items that are exciting to collectors. The first is item #2693, The Mr. Potato Head Game. This is the same basic game as the Tooty Frooty game from the 1960’s, just with updated parts. It was a Sears Roebuck exclusive, and is hard to find today.

Another interesting item is the 1977 Baby Potato Head doll. This cute toddler toy had a huge plastic head and plush body. The doll taught toddlers the basics of zipping, buckling, tying etc. Even though these dolls don't command a high price among collectors, they are not very common and very hard to find with the box.
An extremely rare 1970s item is this store display of Mr. Potato Head puffy stickers. There are several styles of stickers featuring the large brown spud, plus Baby Potato Head. There are also stickers of Hasbro's popular Weeble characters. The entire display is cardboard and features 36 individually packages stickers.
