The 1990s packaging, as with their predecessors, underwent many changes. The first box change of the 1990s featured what I call the "polaroid" box. This first of the "all blue" boxes shows a Polaroid type picture of a child playing with the Potato Head toy. This box also denotes one of the rare times Mr. Potato Head appears on a box without his mustache.
In 1996, Hasbro gave Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head an all new logo and a new box to go with it. The large red logo with yellow text quickly became one of the most recognizable toy logos of the 1990s. For the Mrs. Potato Head logo, Hasbro basically just reversed the colors.
The Spuds dudes were updated again just before the turn of the century. The all new 1999 box featured a slightly smaller picture of the Potato's, and more graphic elements. Also, light blue representations of face pieces were added to the solid blue background on the box.
Another hard to find box is the red box from the United Kingdom.
