The greatest innovation in the 1994 Crazy Style Mr. Potato Head and Crazy Style Mrs. Potato Head was the return of fake fur hair for the first time since the 1950s. About 20 brightly colored new pieces were also included. Now Mr. Potato head could let his hair down and become a hippy, or a wild musician. The Crazy Mrs. Potato Head set included a diaper and pacifier that was only available in this set, and is rarely seen loose. As with most Potato Head sets, the parts were available in different colors. The baby's diaper was made in blue and white.

    The coupon below was a point of purchase offer from Toys ‘R Us and Hasbro during the 1997 Christmas season. Customers could pick up the coupon at the store entrance and redeem it, with the purchase of certain Mr. Potato Head products, for a free bag of Mr. Potato Head spare parts! The bag contained many of the same pieces previously sold in the Crazy Mr. Potato Head set, including wild glasses, the headband and the guitar. All of these spare parts were molded in pastel greens, pinks and purples. After the coupons expired, many Toys ‘R Us stores offered the left over bags (quite a few in most places) for sale for about three dollars.
