The San Francisco pottery company Clay Art has transformed kitchen accessories to much sought after collectibles. Most of the ceramic items they make are distributed on a limited basis, which adds to their rarity.
The 1997 ceramic cookie jar is one of the most popular Mr. Potato Head items from Clay Art. These were made in a very limited supply and are now only available on the secondary market. Two other ceramic cookie Jars have been made over the years. The limited edition Mr. Potato Head Cookie Jar made by artist J.D. James sold in 1998 as a very limited collectible (only 500 were made). This cookie jar will set you back several hundred dollars! The last Mr. Potato Head cookie jar is hard to find and has a strange look on his face. He was produced by Clay Art in 1994 before they acquired the Mr. Potato Head license from Hasbro.
