Beginning in 2002, Hasbro released a variety of Wal-Mart exclusive Mr. Potato Head sets. These sets were released in very limited numbers and for a short time each. Of all these sets, the Startin' School Spud, is the only one with newly shaped arms to help him hold his books & bag. Also, his box says he comes with 11 parts, but there are actually 12. Most of the pictures on the boxes were prototypes. The toys inside matched the box for the most part, but some of the toys had minor color changes when the went into production. For example, the Surfer's nose ended up being a slightly different shape, and the Dracula nose is actually pumpkin orange.
